Catheter ablation for atrial tachycardia in pediatric patients: a single-center experience

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

PurposeAtrial tachycardia is an uncommon supraventricular tachycardia in children. It is often drug-resistant and likely to occur concomitantly with tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy, making radiofrequency catheter ablation the preferred treatment. A total of 78.6% No postoperative complications occurred in any patient.

Calcium channel blockers and beta blockers in pediatric supraventricular tachycardia

Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology

Abstract Introduction Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is a common pediatric arrhythmia. We describe the prescriptive tendencies, efficacy, and tolerability of BBs and CCBs used in the treatment of pediatric SVT. Exclusion criteria were pre-excitation, ectopic atrial tachycardia, and hemodynamically significant heart disease.

PO-04-006 THE ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH ON OUTCOMES IN PEDIATRIC PATIENTS WITH SUPRAVENTRICULAR TACHYCARDIA

HeartRhythm

Disparities have been shown in the treatment of pediatric supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). The Childhood Opportunity Index (COI) is a validated approach that uses a composite index of 29 indicators of social determinants of health linked to the US Census. The relationship between COI and SVT has not been previously published.

Pediatric Exercise Testing

All About Cardiovascular System and Disorders

Discussion on pediatric exercise testing. Pediatric exercise testing may be used for evaluation of various disorders of cardiac rhythm rather than for inducible ischemia as in adults. Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia is the classical arrhythmia noted in catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.

Abstract 4143624: The QTc Dilemma in Pediatric DKA: Which correction formula to use?

Circulation

Background:In diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), cardiac complications such as QTc interval prolongation can pose a risk for ventricular tachycardia. Current pediatric DKA management guidelines should include routine 12-lead ECGs and venous blood gas analyses with electrolytes to monitor QTc changes and mitigate arrhythmia risks.

Transcatheter ablation of atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia in children and congenital heart disease in the era of 3D mapping

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) is a common supraventricular tachycardia in children and congenital heart disease (CHD) patients. Nowadays, in large enough children, chronic treatment for symptomatic and recurrent AVNRT episodes relies on transcatheter ablation.

Early Experience with Ivabradine for Focal Atrial Tachycardia in Pediatric Patients with Congenital Heart Disease

HeartRhythm

It has been used to treat both inappropriate sinus tachycardia and sinus tachycardia related to heart failure in children and adults. Ivabradine’s high selectivity and minimal side effects make it an attractive candidate for wider applications such as focal atrial tachycardia (FAT).
