Hybrid ventricular tachycardia ablation: Choosing the right tool for the job

HeartRhythm

Despite advances in catheter ablation and epicardial access techniques, surgical treatment of ventricular tachycardia (VT) continues to have a role in patients with arrhythmic substrates that are not accessible or amenable to treatment by percutaneous techniques.1–4 In addition, the need for other cardiac surgery can be exploited as an opportunity for concomitant direct mapping and ablation.5,6 Because surgical treatment of VT is used rather infrequently, there is a paucity of data comparing dif

Microvascular Dysfunction as a Possible Link Between Heart Failure and Cognitive Dysfunction

Circulation: Heart Failure

Circulation: Heart Failure, Volume 16, Issue 11 , Page e010117, November 1, 2023. BACKGROUND:Microvascular function in the brain and heart may play an important role in the course of patients with heart failure (HF), but its relationship with ventricular and cognitive function is not well understood. We hypothesized that microvascular function in HF is closely related to both, cardiac and cognitive function.METHODS:In healthy controls and symptomatic patients with HF (New York Heart Association
