Optimal postoperative delirium prediction after coronary artery bypass grafting surgery: a prospective cohort study

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

Background Postoperative delirium (POD) presents as a serious neuropsychiatric syndrome in patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG) surgery. Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that the ACCI (OR, 2.433; 95% CI, 1.468–4.032; P  = 0.001) was an independent risk factor for POD.

Predictors of atrial fibrillation post coronary artery bypass graft surgery: new scoring system

Open Heart

Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) following coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is common and results in significant increases in hospital stay and financial encumbrance. Objective Determine and use the predictors of postoperative AF (POAF) following CABG to develop a new predictive screening tool.

Beating-Heart Coronary Artery Bypass grafting (BH-CABG) in patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD): comparison of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) predicted risk with actual outcomes

Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery

End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is an independent risk factor in outcomes for traditional coronary artery bypass grafting (TRAD-CAB) utilizing aortic cross-clamping and cardioplegic arrest. In order to determin.

How Smoking Affects Your Heart and Increases Surgery Risk

MIBHS

Smokers are also at a higher risk of graft failure in procedures like coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Smoking is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease and complicates surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and bloodless heart surgeries.

Effect of mannitol on postoperative delirium in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft: a randomised controlled trial

Open Heart

Results There were no statistically significant differences in demographic characteristics and risk factors between the control and intervention groups (p<0.05). Secondary outcomes included the duration of mechanical ventilation, length of stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 30-day in-hospital mortality.

Abstract 4148106: Hemophilia and Cardiovascular disease in the United States: Prevalence, Risk factors, and outcomes.

Circulation

Owing to improved management, the life expectancy of patients with hemophilia has increased significantly and predisposes them to risk of cardiovascular diseases and thrombotic events. The primary outcome was to estimate the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in patients with hemophilia compared to the general population.

Systemic immune–inflammation index for predicting postoperative atrial fibrillation following cardiac surgery: a meta-analysis

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

Six studies involved coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery; one encompassed various cardiac procedures, and another focused solely on mitral valve surgery. Results Eight studies published between 2021 and 2023 with 3,245 patients were included.
