Case Report: Leaflet thrombosis after transcatheter valve-in-valve aortic valve replacement in prosthetic valve endocarditis

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

A 70-year-old female patient with a history of bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement and coronary artery bypass graft presented with bioprosthetic valve failure secondary to prosthetic valve endocarditis. This resulted in early death due to myocardial infarction and acute heart failure.

Impact of prior coronary artery bypass grafting and coronary lesion complexity on outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve replacement for severe aortic stenosis

Coronary Artery Disease Journal

Objective To investigate the impact of prior coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and coronary lesion complexity on transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) outcomes for aortic stenosis.

Limited Access to Aortic Valve Procedures in Socioeconomically Disadvantaged Areas

Journal of the American Heart Association

We estimate the relationship between local deprivation ranking and differences in volumes of aortic valve replacement, which include transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR), versus coronary artery bypass graft surgery and laparoscopic colectomy (LC).

Transcatheter Valve and Vessels

American College of Cardiology

The goal of the TCW trial was to test the noninferiority and, if positive, superiority, of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) compared with surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in severe aortic stenosis (AS) with comorbid coronary artery disease (..)

Impact of Lipoprotein(a) on Valvular and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients With Calcific Aortic Valve Stenosis

Journal of the American Heart Association

BackgroundLp(a) (lipoprotein(a)) is an independent risk factor for calcific aortic valve stenosis (CAVS). Journal of the American Heart Association, Ahead of Print. Whether patients with CAVS and high Lp(a) levels are at higher risk of valvular or cardiovascular events is unknown. The maximal followup time was set to 5 years.

SAVR after TAVR Surgical aortic valve replacement after prior TAVR is the fastest-growing cardiac surgery procedure in the U.S. More than 5,500 multi-valve procedures were performed in the U.S. in 2023, of which 60% included double valve replacements, and 25% involved concomitant CABG.
