FDA for two clinical indications: high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention (HR-PCI) and cardiogenic shock (CS). The pump is delivered into the heart fully sheathed, over a guidewire, through the aorta, and across the aortic valve. Magenta completed a U.S. Early Feasibility Study with the HR-PCI indication in 2023.

The diagnostic coronary angiogram identified only minimal coronary artery disease, but there was a severely calcified, ‘immobile’ aortic valve. Aortic angiogram did not reveal aortic dissection. If you see this, you should Doppler the valve. Fundamentally, cardiogenic shock is an issue of decreased cardiac output.
