the most commonly overlooked arrhythmia ( See My Comment at the bottom of the page in the May 1, 2023 — and the November 12, 2019 post , among others ). I have emphasized on many occasions in Dr. Smith's ECG Blog how AFlutter is by far (!) That said — there is strong evidence in Figure-1 that tells us AFlutter is not present here.
The Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) 2023 conference took place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA from October 23 – 26, 2023. Dr. Chadi Alraies provides an overview of the top highlights from TCT 2023. The post TCT 2023 Highlights appeared first on Cardiology Update.

The Heart Rhythm Society recently unveiled the new 2023 HRS/EHRA/APHRS/LAHRS Expert Consensus Statement on Practical Management of the Remote Device Clinic , marking significant progress since the previous 2015 version, which originally identified remote monitoring as the standard of care for implantable cardiac device clinics.
Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) received approval for treating Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in December 2023. While Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) and Cryoablation (CBA) remain standard treatments, PFA offers a novel non-thermal approach with promising results.
Implementing the 2023 Expert Consensus Statement: A Strategic Roadmap for Device Manufacturer Sales Representatives In the ever-evolving landscape of cardiac device care, keeping pace with guidelines and policies can often seem daunting.
For twenty years, robotics has been central to our program offering the highest quality care to a broad range of heart rhythm patients, including the most complex, challenging, and underserved,” added Dr. Gery Tomassoni , Director of Electrophysiology at Baptist Health Lexington.
billion in 2023, warranting a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in HF. Among the most serious manifestations associated with HF is arrhythmia due to the electrophysiological changes within the cardiomyocyte. The total cost of care for HF is USD 69.8
said Nick Spadea-Anello, president, Electrophysiology, Boston Scientific. 2, 2023 – found that therapy with the device was as safe and effective as conventional thermal ablation, with statistically shorter ablation times and a quick learning curve for physicians. physicians and patients alike," Reddy added.
2–4 In fact, the benefits and safety profile of AF ablation have resulted in its designation as first line therapy in the 2023 ACC/AHA/ACCP/HRS guideline for AF management.2 In the past decade, major advances were made in catheter ablation for arrhythmias and implantation of cardiac implantable electronic devices.1
This week, the Cleveland Clinic enrolled the first patient in the AVANT GUARD trial, overseen by Dr. Oussama Wazni, vice chair of cardiovascular medicine and section head, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing, Cleveland Clinic, who is also serving as the lead investigator of the trial.

The Ablamap System includes a workstation with software and monitor, amplifier, and proprietary basket mapping catheter and cables. "I
Electrophysiology note : "In the context of pre-excited atrial fibrillation, we would recommend proceeding with mapping and ablation of accessory pathway (particularly given high risk features including his shortest pre-excited R-R interval is 25 X6 = 150/minute ). . Goyal et al — StatPearls: July, 2023 ).
The September 15, 2023 post — for PTA ( Pulse-Tap Artifact ). The April 6, 2023 post — excessive baseline artifact misdiagnosed as AFib ( instead of sinus rhythm with AV Wenckebach — as in Figure-4 in this post ). The March 17, 2023 post — for PTA. The January 17, 2023 post — for PTA.

Procedural data and electrophysiology (EP) laboratory times were systematically collected and analyzed. The primary endpoint was any AF or atrial tachycardia recurrence at 12 and 24 month follow up.Resultsthe study cohort was composed by 138 patients (mean age was 5911 years, 38% female) and successful PVI was achieved in 100% of cases.
The massive 60-page report (n=5,663 providers, 202 programs, 2023 data) outlined four notable employment trends… Rising PE Ownership – Nearly 50% of surveyed private practice groups were also part of a private equity portfolio, up from zero a few years ago.

Ambulatory electrocardiography (ECG) started out in 1949 while Norman “Jeff” Holter evolved a display that might wirelessly transmit electrophysiologic data.1 1 His unique tool used vacuum tubes, weighed eighty-five pounds, and needed to be carried in a backpack. Furthermore, it can ship a sign a distance of the simplest 1 block.
A very similar case to the one presented today appears in the January 17, 2023 post of Dr. Smith’s ECG Blog. 17, 2023 post ). Today’s case provides yet one more example. Simply redo the ECG with care at repositioning the 4 extremity leads to ensure they are no longer in contact with a pulsating artery.

Methods Retrospective cohort study of consecutive patients undergoing transvenous lead insertion for pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices between 2011 and 2023. Results Three thousand two hundred fifty-two patients underwent insertion of pacing leads between February 2011 and March 2023.
Methods The TriNetX database (Jan 2015June 2023) was queried to include adults receiving their first single-chamber ventricular pacemaker for heart block, bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, atrial fibrillation, or syncope, excluding those with prior pacemakers, heart failure or enrolled for research settings.
Methods We included adult patients who had an index admission with AF to Latakia's tertiary center between July 2021 and November 2023. This study assessed the rate, predictors, and trends of 6-month readmission after index admission for AF in Syria. Patients were monitored for readmission for 6 months after index discharge.
Methods We performed a systematic search within our institutional TriNetX database to identify adult patients who (1) had new onset AF between January 2018 and January 2023, (2) did not have surgery or thyrotoxicosis within 1 month of incident AF diagnosis, and (3) had at least one visit at our center >6 months after initial AF diagnosis.
