Methods The retrospective study was completed to investigate patients with aortic valve endocarditis undergoing cardiac surgery between January 2006 and November 2022 at our hospital. Results 512 patients were divided into group with destruction of the aortic annulus ( n = 80) and without destruction of the aortic annulus ( n = 432).

In March 2023, PDSA cycle #1, use of the emergent hotline, was implemented and house wide staff education were administered addressing the process change.Results:Data were collected between Dec 2022-June 2023. There were a total of 64 SA activations, 53% were activated on a non-neuroscience unit, and 33% were diagnosed with a stroke.
