Authors' commentary: Cardiogenic shock in the setting of severe aortic stenosis. Fundamentally, cardiogenic shock is an issue of decreased cardiac output.

A 69 year old woman with a history of hypertension presented to the emergency department by EMS for evaluation of chest pain and shortness of breath.
