Abstract 85: One-year Outcomes After Endovascular Treatment for Posterior Circulation Tandem Occlusions: A Multicenter Experience of 249 Patients

Stroke Journal

Posterior circulation tandem occlusion was defined as stroke due to intracranial vertebral (V4), basilar, or posterior cerebral artery (PCA) occlusions, with tandem steno-occlusive lesion >70% of the extracranial vertebral artery and impaired distal flow or partial filling of the VA from collaterals.

Intravenous Thrombolysis Before Endovascular Treatment in Posterior Circulation Occlusions: A MR CLEAN Registry Study

Stroke Journal

These studies mainly concerned anterior circulation occlusions. All patients with a posterior circulation occlusion were included. Primary outcome was a shift toward better functional outcome on the modified Rankin Scale at 90 days. Our results are in line with the literature on the anterior circulation.

Abstract TMP96: Clear Thrombectomy Score: An Index to Estimate Probability of Good Functional Outcome Following Endovascular Treatment in the Late Window for Anterior Circulation Occlusion

Stroke Journal

A good functional outcome occurred in 813 (43.8%) patients. Independent predictors of the primary outcome, with points allocated toward the final score, included younger age, higher ASPECTS, lower NIHSS, and time from last known well to arterial puncture. However, EVT may be less effective in extreme scenarios (e.g.,

Abstract 4139285: Awareness of Myocardial Infarction and Stroke Symptoms Among Asian American Adults: Insights from the National Health Interview Survey 2014 and 2017

Circulation

Circulation, Volume 150, Issue Suppl_1 , Page A4139285-A4139285, November 12, 2024. Awareness of symptoms is vital for early recognition and prompt treatment, which can significantly improve health outcomes. Introduction:Stroke and Myocardial Infarction (MI) are the leading causes of death in the United States.

Stroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology

However, there is limited evidence regarding its safety and efficacy specifically for distal aneurysms of the posterior circulation including posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA), anterior inferior cerebellar artery (AICA), superior cerebellar artery (SCA), and the P2 and P3 segment of the posterior cerebral artery (PCA).

Abstract 4137905: The association between prehospital epinephrine administration and short-term outcomes in patients with shockable out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation: a propensity matched analysis

Circulation

Circulation, Volume 150, Issue Suppl_1 , Page A4137905-A4137905, November 12, 2024. Background:In out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients with an initial shockable rhythm, epinephrine increases the likelihood of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), but its effect on neurological outcome remains uncertain.
