Abstract WMP32: Cross-Platform Proteomics and Machine Learning Algorithms Nominate Biomarkers of Stroke Diagnosis: An Exploratory Study

Stroke Journal

We conducted internal validation on the same samples using the PeptiQuant Plus biomarker assessment kits (BAK-270) for targeted protein quantitation (Figure 1).Results:We Blood samples were collected at admission to the ER before any therapeutic intervention. Results:We included 100 patients (mean age 58.6

4.94), but not with 90-day mRS or mortality. Conclusion:Serum creatinine-based biomarkers of renal dysfunction were associated with faster progressor phenotype of ACLVO stroke, higher mRS, and mortality at 90 days. Patients were included if they received baseline MRI or CTP on presentation within 24 hours after stroke onset.

Abstract 146: Data Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry Identifies Novel Plasma Protein Biomarkers that Distinguish Transient Ischemic Attack from Stroke Mimics

Stroke Journal

Conclusions:Our discovery proteomics study highlights the potential of DIA-MS proteomics as a valuable tool for discovering novel protein biomarkers to distinguish TIA from MIM. While TIA patients are at an increased risk of stroke, MIM do not need stroke-related management. These findings warrant validation in larger, longitudinal studies.

Body iron stores had no impact on coronary heart disease outcomes: a middle-aged male cohort from the general population with 21-year follow-up

Open Heart

Biomarkers for iron stores (serum ferritin and serum transferrin receptor) was analysed from frozen blood samples in 2014. All hospital admissions were registered through national registers during the entire follow-up from 1993 to 2014. HRs were estimated by Cox proportional-hazard regression analyses.

Interrelation between hypoxic liver injury and Killip classification in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

This study investigates the interrelationship between hypoxic liver injury (HLI) and Killip classification.Method and resultsA total of 1,537 STEMI patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from 2007 to 2014 at four tertiary hospitals in the Incheon-Bucheon province were enrolled in this study.

Associations between short-term exposure to PM2.5 and cardiomyocyte injury in myocardial infarction survivors in North Carolina

Open Heart

on cardiac troponin I, a cardiomyocyte specific biomarker of cellular damage. Troponin I measurements were available from 2014 to 2016, and were required to be at least 1 week away from a clinically diagnosed MI. Here we evaluate the impact of daily PM 2.5

Is OMI an ECG Diagnosis?

Dr. Smith's ECG Blog

1] European guidelines add "regardless of biomarkers". 2014 AHA/ACC guideline for the management of patients with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndromes. Circulation 2014 2. But only 6.4% of such ‘high risk Non-STEMI’ patients get angiography within 2 hours.[2] It is not yet available, but this is your way to get on the list.
